What Is Drain Cleaning?
Drain cleaning is the process of clearing a pipe of whatever is slowing or stopping water from draining — hair, soap scum, grease, food waste, mineral buildup, or a combination of all of it. Most drains narrow gradually over months before they clog completely, which is why a "slow" drain today is often a "clogged" drain a few weeks from now.
We handle drain cleaning for kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks and tubs, showers, laundry lines and floor drains. The right method depends on where the clog is and what's causing it, which is why we start by understanding the drain rather than reaching for the same tool every time.
What's Included
- A look at the fixture and a quick assessment of what's likely causing the slowdown
- Mechanical drain cleaning with a professional drain auger ("snake") to break up and remove the blockage
- A test run of water through the line to confirm it's actually clear, not just temporarily open
- A recommendation for hydro jetting if the clog is heavier buildup rather than a single blockage
- Straightforward advice on what's causing repeat clogs, if we notice a pattern
What to Expect
You describe the problem
Tell us which drain is slow or backed up and roughly how long it's been happening — that alone often narrows down the likely cause.
We inspect and clear it
We clear the line using the appropriate tool for the fixture and clog type, working from the nearest access point.
We test it
We run water through the drain to confirm normal flow before we consider the job done.
We tell you what we found
If we saw something worth knowing about — root intrusion further down the line, for example — we'll explain it and what your options are.

FAQ
Drain Cleaning Questions
A few things homeowners usually ask before booking a drain cleaning visit.
Is drain cleaning the same as sewer line cleaning?
Not quite. Drain cleaning targets an individual fixture's line — a sink, tub or floor drain. Sewer line work deals with the larger line that carries wastewater away from the whole house. A drain that clogs repeatedly across multiple fixtures can sometimes point to a sewer line issue, which is one reason we ask about the pattern before we start.
Will you use chemical drain cleaners?
Generally, no. Chemical drain cleaners can damage older pipes and don't remove the actual blockage — they just dissolve part of it. We rely on mechanical methods, which clear the line properly and let us see what caused the clog in the first place.
Why does the same drain keep clogging?
Repeat clogs in the same spot usually mean the underlying cause wasn't fully cleared, or that there's a structural issue — a low spot in the pipe, a partial collapse, or root intrusion further down the line. If a drain keeps coming back, a video camera line inspection is often the fastest way to find out why.
How quickly can you come out?
We offer same-day appointments in most cases, and we're available around the clock for anything that qualifies as an emergency, like a backed-up drain that's actively flooding a room.

Other work we run calls for
Most jobs touch more than one of these — the camera finds it, the jetter clears it, the repair finishes it.
-
Sewer Line Repair & Replacement
Diagnosing a damaged main line and fixing it — from a targeted spot repair on a cracked section to replacing a line that has reached the end of its service life.
-
Hydro Jetting
High-pressure water that scours grease, sludge and scale off the pipe wall — for lines where a cable punches a hole through buildup instead of removing it.
-
Video Camera Line Inspection
A camera down the line so the diagnosis is something you can see — cracks, root intrusion, bellies and blockages located before anyone talks about digging.
-
Septic Tank Service
Attention for homes outside the municipal sewer grid — inspection, service calls, and sorting out whether a problem sits in the house line, the tank or the field.
-
Emergency Plumbing
Burst pipes, active leaks and sewer backups — the calls that cannot wait for Monday. Available around the clock, every day of the week.
